Ha Anh music debut

We went to the Park Hyatt last night for the debut of Ha Anh Vu's singing career with her single, "Model (Take My Picture)," featuring Antoneus Maximus. Hosted by Kathy Uyen, the event was filled with Ha Anh fans, friends and press. Hors d'ouvres, delicious desserts and drinks were served throughout the night. Check out Ha Anh's music video here. A good life for Good Person

Last week at Hanoi Press Club was a charity event to support life-changing surgeries for 32 little boys with genital deformities. With the help of three Italian surgeons and many volunteers, each surgery costs only $1500 USD per child. These surgeries were inspired by a little boy named Thien Nhan (translates to Good Person) who was abandoned at birth and mauled by a wild animal in Central Vietnam.

The event was a well-organized occasion with drinks, hors d'oeuvres, singing, a live art auction by celebrity auctioneer Kathy Uyen and a fashion show featuring local designers Nguyen Minh Phuc and Ngo Thanh Tu. So DOPE

Lifestyle website DOPE.VN just hosted the Bootie Vietnam tour earlier this month at Rooftop in Hanoi. Bootie club nights began in 2003 in San Francisco by dj duo A Plus D (A+D), focusing on the bootleg mash-up music genre. Bootie nights are now regular club nights in some cities across the globe. Rooftop was very packed as party-goers were enjoying the decor, party favors and music. A week later, the Bootie party moved down to Ho Chi Minh City at Blue Lounge and wrapped up its SE Asian tour at Bed Supperclub in Bangkok.

Singapore's Animal Lovers

Walking around Singapore brought a small group called Animal Lovers League (Pets Villa) to our attention. This group provides not only shelter but food and good care for rescued strays. Their small table was loaded with totes, umbrellas, stuffed animals and other small goods for sale. Proceeds of the sale go to Pets Villa, and you can even donate $40 Singapore dollars to buy one bag of rice that is enough to feed all 600 animals for one whole day. Help them help animals!

Dreamy night at the Rooftop

My-Linh and Duc Tuan performed at the Rooftop recently in a concert titled Nhung Ngay Mong Mo (Dreamy Days). Fashionable My-Linh was in a side gathered white sequin cocktail dress with covered buttons up the back, paired with black patent heels. We thoroughly enjoyed the Moet bubbly and the show, which was part of a monthly concert series at the Rooftop that has included Tuan Ngoc, Nguyen Le and Dam Vinh Hung.

Fall fashion from Milano

A couple weeks ago, retailer Milano hosted its cocktail hour and fall fashion show in Hanoi's Melia Hotel. The set was quite impressive, as were the looks - kudos to the show's stylist! The retailer introduced fall men's and women's looks from Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent and Roberto Cavalli in a playful way. The following day, Milano offered a discount to all event attendees as a special thank you. What a treat!
